Printing all the things you need to know!

Welcome to Know It All Prints, the online store of Brooklyn-based designer and photographer Maria Spann. I design educational posters and wall art for home and school, to order as prints or digital downloads.

Some prints are designed with babies and small children in mind, but many (especially the math prints) are made to appeal to school children and teenagers – and their parents.

I have a passion for all things stationery and paper. Growing up, there was no more exciting time than the weeks leading up to school starting back after summer. I got to pick new pens, erasers and possibly a pencil case, along with notebooks and book paper to protect my school books. Most exciting of all was finding stickers to decorate with and to make the often boring math and language reference sheets a little more interesting.

As an adult with kids of my own, I found it quite difficult to find stationery, educational prints and nursery decor that were esthetically pleasing to both parent and child, and often found myself referencing vintage 50's and 60's designs to make wall art and stickers for my own kids. And that's how Know It All Prints came to be.

I design most of my items by first sketching ideas in pen or pencil and then either scanning the drawings or drawing them again on the computer. Some of my things are sold as digital downloads and so those designs stay on the computer. What I love the most though, is turning my illustrations/designs into screen prints – there's nothing better than lifting the screen and seeing the ink on paper!

I have a small screen printing table in my home office, which is where I expose screens and print most of my prints. Sometimes, if I am short of time or if I need a particularly large print, I will get my screens exposed at a print shop nearby. But I do all the printing myself.

I call my shop Know It All Prints, as I focus mostly on educational prints – for kids and teens.

The earth and environment is very important to me, which is why I source environmentally friendly and sustainable materials whenever possible. All of my paper products are printed locally using FSC® certified or Rainforest Alliance Certified™ papers and my envelopes contain 30% post-consumer waste. Our shipping materials are made of recycled content and are also recyclable after use.

Education for all kids is also a subject very close to my heart, which is why I donate 10% of my proceeds to charities helping kids all over the world get access to schools and educational materials. Right now, I'm donating to the Malala Fund.

I hope you find something in my shop you like or get inspired by!

I hope you'll find the products inspiring – they are all made with love here in Brooklyn. I am constantly re-stocking and updating the store with new exciting goods so be sure to check back soon!
